Kinetics Opens Taiwan Office to Serve Region’s Foundry Customers

SANTA CLARA, Calif., September 14, 2000 – Kinetics Group, Inc., the global leader in critical process infrastructure, today announced the establishment of a wholly owned subsidiary, Kinetics Taiwan Company, Ltd. in Hsinchu, Taiwan. The new operation will provide local capabilities necessary to meet the region’s customers needs for Kinetics products and services under the leadership of Fred Hsia, Managing Director for Kinetics Taiwan.

“Kinetics has developed an exceptional customer base in Taiwan, which has provided us with the leading market position for CMP slurry blending and distribution systems,” said Hsia. “By providing exceptional customer support for these critical process systems, we will continue to earn our customer’s loyalty. Our investment in local, factory-trained application engineering, software, and field support resources is just the first step in achieving our goal of being the preeminent supplier of gas, chemical, and water systems in Taiwan,” he said.

Hsia brings over twelve years of semiconductor industry experience to Kinetics, including over ten years in Taiwan. Prior to joining Kinetics he has held management positions with Akrion, Millipore, and Tylan General.

“This region has emerged as a critical market for the semiconductor industry,” said Joseph Cestari, Vice President, Marketing and Business Development for Kinetics Electronics. “The formation of Kinetics Taiwan allows us to introduce new fluid delivery technologies to our foundry customers, and will serve as a platform to provide bundled turnkey offerings in the region.”

Kinetics designs and manufactures modular and conventional gas distribution systems, Unit Instruments mass flow controllers, process chillers, Mega Systems chemical and CMP slurry blending and distribution systems, and outsource contract manufacturing services. Kinetics’ integrated range of solutions for semiconductor manufacturing plants includes installation of the complete gas, chemical and water infrastructure, including hook-up of the wafer fabrication tools.

Today, Kinetics is the world’s largest provider of critical process infrastructure, uniquely positioned to meet its customers’ needs to integrate new process manufacturing technologies and expand capacity in their facilities. The company designs, manufactures and facilitates chemical, slurry, gas and water process utility systems that are critical to the semiconductor, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and other regulated industries. Kinetics is an agile, global organization 7,300 employees strong, with strategic expansion plans to leverage its 27 years of experience and innovation into new markets around the globe.

Press Releases
Unit 125

The Celerity Unit 125 integrated flow controller achieves unprecedented setpoint response time, enhanced accuracy, and industry-proven flow stabilization by combining thermal and pressure sensor technologies with primary gas calibration metrology. The result is faster recipe stabilization time, improved set point accuracy and configurable gas and flow capabilities. These capabilities are enabling for etch processes, MEMS / nanotechnology, low vapor pressure and reactive chemistries.

Benefits:
  • Fast recipe stabilization time
  • Elimination of pressure transient effects
  • Improved setpoint accuracy
  • Reduced MFC part stocking requirements
  • Reduced gas abatement costs
