MILPITAS, CA, June 21, 2005 – Celerity, a leading supplier of gas and chemical delivery systems for the semiconductor industry, today announced that David Somo has joined the Company as senior vice president of sales and marketing responsible for global sales, service and corporate marketing. Somo recently served as vice president of marketing at Ubicom, responsible for leading the product marketing, business development, and applications engineering activities.
Prior to joining Ubicom, Somo served as senior vice president, worldwide sales and service, and corporate officer at MEMC Electronic Materials, a leading supplier of silicon wafers to integrated device manufacturers and semiconductor foundries. Somo also served as vice president of strategic account sales at Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), a leading supplier of x86 compatible microprocessors and flash memory. There, he established the strategic account organization and managed sales to AMD’s top tier customers worldwide. Also at AMD, Mr. Somo held the positions of vice president, sales and marketing for the Americas, and vice president of worldwide marketing for AMD’s microprocessor business. He began his career at AMD in 1991 as a technical marketing engineer. He holds a bachelor’s of science degree in electrical engineering from Arizona State University.
