Our experience is rooted in the semiconductor manufacturing industry, but is also applicable throughout a number of related high-growth electronics markets, including flat panel displays, magnetic and optical storage devices, micro-electro mechanical systems, CMOS sensors, and solar.
Semiconductors
The semiconductor industry is one of the global economy’s fastest growing segments, driven by innovation, new technology, and consumer demand. Celerity serves those needs, as we provide our own multi-technology expertise in all aspects of precision semiconductor device fabrication, including deposition, surface removal, and surface modification processes.
Flat Panel Displays
Flat panel displays encompass a variety of display technologies, used in products such as televisions, personal computers, PDAs, camcorders, cell phones, and digital cameras. Such products’ common need for extremely thin-film materials at nano scales manufactured with cost-effective processes plays to Celerity’s strengths. Celerity’s vacuum and flow technologies are used for plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition and reactive ion etching processes employed to manufacture the various display technologies.
Solar/Photovoltaics (PV)
Photovoltaic is an increasing popular technology that uses semiconductor materials for converting solar radiation directly into electricity. Celerity provides re-rangeable flow control technology and low drift vacuum sensor technology to enable rapid process development and recipe flexibility for the emerging photovoltaic market.
Magnetic and Optical Storage Devices
Data storage products such as CDs, DVDs, hard disk drives, and storage network systems are ubiquitous – for copying, backing up, and sharing all kinds of business and consumer information. Celerity technology is widely used in the thin-film processes employed in manufacturing the memory media.
Micro-Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS)
Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) combine silicon-based microelectronics with micromachining technology, making possible the creation of tiny machines with enormous commercial potential. Celerity offers fast switching flow control with pressure compensation technology for the Bosch process, enabling high aspect ratio silicon etch and deep trench device structures. Celerity vacuum products are used in many of the critical chamber pressure control applications for precise monitoring and control.
Complementary Metal–Oxide–Semiconductor (CMOS)
Complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor (CMOS) is the most widely used integrated circuit design, found in almost every electronic product – from handheld devices to mainframes. Since CMOS chips require less power, they are particularly attractive for use in battery-powered devices, such as portable computers and to manufacture specialized sensors used in a multitude of applications and industries, Celerity provides comprehensive vacuum, pressure, and flow control, featuring high accuracy and low drift performance for the next generation of metal oxide chemical vapor deposition and high k dielectric materials.
